The Impact of the Sakas and the Kushanas

  • The coming of the Sakas and Kushanas led to the growth of close contacts between Central Asia and India.
  • The Sakas and the Kushanas introduced new styles of dressing. Turbans, tunics, trousers and heavy long coats were popularized by them.
  • Indian craftsmen came into contact with the Greeks and Romans in the north-western frontier of the Indian subcontinent and the result was rich outpouring of images of the Buddha in the Gandhara (Indo -Greek)
